The Magnetic Beads Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Plant) was designed specifically for genomic DNA purification from plants using a proprietary magnetic bead and reagent combination. Its unique buffer system will efficiently lyse cells and degrade protein, allowing for nucleic acid to be easily bound by the surface of the magnetic beads. RNA and other non-specific binding particles are removed with a Wash Buffer, and the genomic DNA is then released into the Release Buffer. Genomic DNA can be purified manually within 50 minutes (using most magnetic separators) or the kit can be easily adapted to most automated magnetic bead separation instruments.

Quality Control
 
The quality of the Magnetic Beads Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Plant) is tested on a lot-to-lot basis according to Geneaid's ISO-certified quality management system. Genomic DNA from 100 mg of fresh corn is manually extracted using the Magnetic Beads Genomic DNA Extraction Kit (Plant). The purified DNA (9 μg with an A260/A280 ratio of 1.7-1.8) is quantified with a spectrophotometer and checked by electrophoresis.
