96-Well Total RNA Kit

The 96-Well RNA Kit was designed for high throughput total RNA purification from cultured animal cells, blood, bacteria, fungus and tissue samples using a 96 well plate miniprep system. Using either vacuum or centrifuge, RNA preparations of 96 samples can be completed in 30 minutes. Chaotropic salt is used to lyse cells and inactivate RNase allowing RNA to be easily bound by the glass fiber matrix of each well of the 96 well plate. Once any contaminants have been removed, using the Wash Buffer (containing ethanol), the purified RNA is eluted by RNase-free Water. The purified RNA is ready for use in various downstream applications such as RT-PCR, Real-time PCR, Northern Blotting, mRNA Selection, Microarrays, cDNA Synthesis.

Quality Control

The quality of the 96-Well Total RNA Kit is tested on a lot-to-lot basis according to Geneaid's ISO-certified quality management system. Total RNA from cultured animal cells (up to 5 × 106) is extracted using the Total RNA Mini Kit (Blood/Cultured Cell). The purified RNA is quantified with a spectrophotometer and checked by electrophoresis.

Figure 1. Total RNA was extracted from cultured animal cells (up to 5 × 106) using the 96-Well Total RNA Kit.  Total RNA from 15 µl aliquots of the final eluate were analyzed by electrophoresis on a 1% agarose gel. Lanes 1-3 were chosen randomly from the 96 Well test plate eluates.
