Total RNA Mini Kit (Plant)

The Total RNA Mini Kit (Plant) is a RNA Isolation Kit designed for total RNA purification from plant tissue and cells using an efficient RNA miniprep system. This RNA Kit will purify RNA from a wide variety of plant species within 15 minutes. Samples are initially ground in liquid nitrogen and then filtered to remove cell debris using the efficient RNA filter columns. In the presence of a binding buffer and chaotropic salt, total RNA in the lysate binds to the glass fiber matrix of the RNA spin column. Once any contaminants have been removed using the Wash Buffer (containing ethanol), the purified total RNA is eluted by RNase-free Water. Phenol extraction or alcohol precipitation is not required and the purified total RNA is ready for use in RT-PCR, Real-time PCR and Northern Blotting. Each Geneaid RNA Kit includes individually packaged certified DNase and RNase-free spin columns and collection tubes.

Quality Control

The quality of the Total RNA Mini Kit (Plant) is tested on a lot-to-lot basis according to Geneaid's ISO-certified quality management system. Total RNA from a 50 mg fresh Thale Cress (Arabidopsis thaliana) leaves is extracted using the Total RNA Mini Kit (Plant). The purified RNA (27 μg with an A260/A280 ratio of 1.8-2.0) is quantified with a spectrophotometer and checked by electrophoresis.
